HomeWise Repair & Improvement Service was founded by Jim & Lynda Dahlheimer in Rogers, Minnesota.

Prior to HomeWise, Jim handled all his own home's repair and improvement needs - skills he acquired from growing up on a dairy farm, training as a mechanic for the U.S. Army, and then finally, repairing aircraft for a major airline. Lynda was busy developing her entrepreneurial sales and marketing skills at a creative agency she founded. At the same time, they were also focused on raising their four children -Jayme, Jenna, Jimmy and Jordan.

In 2005 they reached a crossroads:  Jim’s job was in jeopardy due to the condition of the airlines industry and Lynda had already sold her business. 

By putting their hearts and souls to work, and calling upon the Lord for wisdom once again, the idea of HomeWise was presented.  Here was a business that put their special gifts to work while at the same time providing a new and positive spin on the handyman industry – a professional, ethical, trustworthy service focusing on those projects that busy households don’t have the time, tools, or desire to do.

After several months of meticulous market research and intensive customer focus groups to provide all the right elements for an ideal home repair and maintenance business, Jim and Lynda threw open the doors of HomeWise, which the marketplace has embraced ever since.

From the simple yet bothersome tasks on the “honey-do” list to more comprehensive bathroom and basement remodeling projects – HomeWise provides a helping hand for homeowners ranging from such simple yet bothersome tasks as hanging framed artwork and fixing squeaking doors to remodeling an entire bathroom or finishing a basement.
